The US Congress should Vote for Peace
not more War

No More $$Billions & No More Weapons to Ukraine

December 1, 2022

This war in Ukraine has been disastrous, causing hundreds of thousands deaths, destruction of the Ukrainian land, a global economic crises for poorer nations, and an inflation of food, gas and other prices. The war is disastrous for both Ukrainian and Russian people. Russia is of course responsible, but the NATO and US policies should also be seen as responsible and inept in diplomatic attempts to end the war. The only viable humanitarian and practical solution is to put all our efforts towards a diplomatic peace agreement to End this war – Rather than prolong the war by sending another load of offensive weapons and war-money, in the unrealistic fantasy that Ukraine will kick the Russian army all the way back to Moscow; while refusing to have practical peace talks with Russia and address their security and economic concerns.

If Peace is possible, then Peace should be pursued rather than prolonging war. And Peace is possible! It just requires a sincere effort. Putin wants to talk peace, so the US and Ukraine should talk and make a sincere effort to End this war – not prolong it in a false hope of eventually winning. Get it over with, right now, right this year. It is possible, but first there has to be talk, negotiation and compromises from both sides, while during this time it is possible to have a ceasefire. What kind of world do we want to live in? A world of battles and death until one side wins? Or a world with peaceful conflict-resolution and a willingness to make compromises. The time is Now to make a Change in course – a Change in our current war-policy ...to a policy and realistic plan for peace.

Until a Peace Agreement is made, this is going to be another prolonged war. Ukraine will never win the outcome they want. And Russia will never achieve all of their ideal outcomes. Both sides will, in the end of the day, have to sit down, and with the US helping, Make a Peace Agreement, and reestablish some sort of peaceful relationship with one another, as neighboring countries. What other long-term sustainable Goal could there be, but some sort of peaceful relations?

SO Why Not Now – if Peace can only be achieved by diplomatic peace negotiations, then Why Not Start right now! This month! and let's get this war overwith by the end of this year. This is achievable; this is possible. But Not if we continue to send more and more war-money and offensive weapons in order to continue the war. Instead of prolonging the war-policy; Stand Up for Peace, and for making a peace deal right now.

The way to end this damaging war is to stop the US money and weapons flow to Ukraine. No more weapons, no more war. No more money, no more war. We can still help Ukraine, but Congress should insist that the money come from the already bloated military budget. Yet any money given to Ukraine, from now on, should go to reconstruction and humanitarian assistance... NOT for more weapons in order to continue the war ...by sending another load of offensive weapons, the US is simply prolonging the war – rather than Shifting right Now towards a negotiated peace agreement.

This war is UNWINNABLE; that is, neither side will “win” - neither side will achieve their ideal hopes desire, and both sides will be disappointed in some ways. This is according to the US top military advisor, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, who very recently stated in a press conference, “at the end of the day, this war will end with a political solution,” not an outright win, and he urged Ukraine to re-start peace negotiations with Russia sooner than later - or in other words, Start Peace Talks Now, and get this war over with! For as Gen. Milley said, “When there’s an opportunity to negotiate, when peace can be achieved, seize the moment.” And Now is the Moment! The Choice for Peace is NOW. The choice should not be ...let's send Ukraine another multi-Billion dollar load of hi-powered weapons to see if the Ukrainian army can make Russia run like hell... just one more $$Billion load of weapons and money, and see if that will bring Russia to its knees...

We have to Stop this fantasy and get realistic. The smarter and realistic advisors in Washington are saying "No"... No more war.
It's Unwinnable! Get on with Peace negotiations... because sooner or later that is what both sides will need to do.

And realistically, to continue this war is NOT Worth the Enormous Cost to human lives and also to the American taxpayers (footing the bill). There are Plenty of other problems to spend $Billions on. Money is not unlimited, you know. The more that war gets of the public money pie, the less money is available to solve other problems.

The war is going nowhere and all that is being accomplished is more and more killing, destruction of land and infrastructure, and Wasting $$Billions on furthering this war – rather than spend these $$Billions on ending hunger and starvation in the world, helping alleviate extreme poverty, and solving the impending climate crises.

This is a wasted, unwinnable and disastrous war – to human beings, the natural environment, and to the global economy. Some corporations and investors are greatly profiting from the war – But 99.99% of the world is suffering because of this unnecessary war. Just Make a Peace Deal ...and let's get on with more important issues at hand.

Let us help END THIS WAR – by Not feeding it with more and more offensive weapons and $$Billions of war-support dollars.
Instead of supporting and prolonging the war

→ Support a Policy of Peacemaking, Peacebuilding,
and Real Diplomacy.

No More Money → No More War.
No More Weapons → No More War.

Instead, help set up Peace Talks and a Peace Agreement.

If we send Ukraine more weapons and war money, then we are just setting the scene for another 100,000 people killed – in a war that is... Not Worth The Costs (human, environmental, and economic costs)
… a war that could be settled in weeks and before the new year, and with a ceasefire starting right now... BUT this will only happen IF America encourages Peace not war, and sets up realistic peace negotiations - rather than sending more weapons to prolong the war.

Be a Leader for Peace, not war. Be Leader for Diplomacy, not “we're gonna beat the crap out of you”.

The time of adolescent men in charge of mass-destructive weapons and a war-policy (of 'our weapons are bigger than yours') should now exit from the scene. Move On.

Right now, the Biden administration has no realistic peace vision and no plans for global diplomacy. We have entered a war policy, dominated by delusional fantasizing boys-on-the-hill. This is so pathetic. Is the whole Democratic Party run by these guys and their Corporate sponsors? Progressives Wake UP!! Stop going along with this. Make Your Stand.

The world is right now headed towards an increasing climate crises, which is Not being dealt with at all – the U.S. alone increased its carbon emissions in the past year by 6%, and how much has the military contributed to this? And think of all the carbon and other toxic pollution resulting from the Ukraine war! WE are avoiding taking care of our immediate problems and we're leaving a complete mess for our children to deal with; So we Do Not need to keep on with this war, and spending $$Billions on sustaining it.

IF Congress fails to approve Biden's requested $37.7 Billion; THEN this war will Soon End, because Ukraine and the US will have no choice but to get this war overwith – by negotiating a peace deal with Russia, and with the US helping Ukraine in the negotiations.

IT IS TIME to make Peace; because “when peace can be achieved, seize the moment.” And when can Peace be achieved? Whenever we agree to make it happen.

By voting NO on this additional US tax-dollar spending of $37.7 - $50 Billion for the war in Ukraine, you are sending a direct message to the pro-war advocates that – America prefers Peace is over war.

And by the way → even if this additional $$Billion war-aid package is defeated; the Military could simply reach into their own $800 Billion budget and easily pull out $40 Billion (about 5% of the Too Many Billions they already have!) and use that 5% of their money for helping Ukraine and send weapons, or whatever the heck they want to do!
– So don't get fooled by this Congressional Bluff. Instead, vote NO on the additional money in order to send a message of 'We Prefer Peace Talks' (Not war), and then ….let the already overbloated Military budget pay for this military and war stuff (and they damn well can afford to do so!). And anyways, if America can 'no-problem' spend $40 Billion more on whatever... then put these billions towards climate solutions or social needs – Not more military spending! My Gosh, what are you all thinking? More military spending?? .. when Congress could only “afford” $55 Billion for the climate & infrastructure bill?? ….Ohhh but no problem spending over $100 Billion on an unwinnable war that has killed over 200,000 people so far?? Isn't this sort of neurotic?

So instead of sending more and more weapons and $$Billions to continue this war – Let us work with Ukraine to start Peace Talks with Russia, agree to a ceasefire, and quickly negotiate a reasonable Peace Deal. Voting yes for this additional $$Billion dollar request is a vote for prolonging the war. A vote for No is a vote for making Peace, …. making peace sooner than later.
